Iranian author and researcher Dr Maryam Ala Amjadi’s wish on Women’s Day

Video Subtitles: I am Maryam Ala Amjadi, a researcher in cultural studies and history. To make a wish for women of the world and to make just one wish is to some extent difficult for me, because it means that I would have to prefer and prioritize one demand over another. In short, I hope we can live in a world where being human is not the privilege of a few and the definition of a human being and humanity is not limited to only some people. To quote George Orwell in Animal Farm, “All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.” I hope it will not be like this and we all can live in equity and that equality and justice will not remain only as slogans, but manifest in practice as well as in theory.
